This gives you full control over the event based on turnout ect. I had a limited amount of people come, but the first major one I did was the Lich king brawl this October, and by entering the brawl while connected to the tavern I had 2 options, set the Lich kings HP (nerf, buff w/e) or play normal.
If you click the fireside lantern in the menu it'll say "Hey_ ready to set up your gathering?" click yes, and then it'll say "is this connection the one you wish to use?" (it assumes the wifi you are currently connected to) if yes, you then also get the option to add another network (if you have more than one for larger events)

When the date comes for the gathering, I set up a guest network _Tavern and just a generic password and turn it on for the event, when you load up hearthstone you need to do so as the account you signed up for the tavern. With that a write up of the event, address and location is sent to blizzard, generally in 48 hours it'll be approved if it meets criteria.
